MARINES, YOU ARE NEEDED!

I want to encourage every Marine to become involved in the Marine Corps League.  By being a member of the Marine Corps League we continue to show our loyalty to one another and to the families of those Marines who never got to come home.  America and our brother and sister Marines need us to come together to save those benefits we have earned and were granted by a grateful people.  The only way to protect those benefits is through numbers of us supporting the League and Veterans Organizations who lead the fight for us.  NUMBERS COUNT.  I urge you to be faithful to your brother and sister Marines and their families with your membership and your active support of the Marine Corps League.

Semper Fi and GBU,
Woody Williams

Membership Information

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF WEST VIRGINIA!

The Dept of WV Fall Quarterly Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, 12 September 2020 at the VFW Post 1212 on Blizzard Lane in Parkersburg, WV.  The Department Officers meeting is at 0930 hours (9:30 AM) sharp; the general meeting begins at 1000 hours (10:00 AM).  Lunch will be provided, along with coffee and donuts upon arrival.  This is an important meeting to attend because a slate of new Department Officers will be voted on for the coming year.  Also, since the Annual Convention was cancelled because of the virus, this meeting will fulfill some of the events that would have taken place at the Convention, such as awarding the Annual Department Awards and the Department Marine of the Year Award.  Please make plans to attend, and we encourage carpooling for those coming from any distance.

The attached document shows the information that your Detachment Commandant's Report should contain.  Please use this as your model/guide when preparing your report, and e-mail a copy of this report to Adjutant Leib so she can count your Detachment as being in compliance.  In addition, bring one printed copy to the meeting to give to Adjutant Lieb (You do not need to bring 15 copies this time).  Please try to make sure at least one person from your Detachment attends this meeting.  We will also vote on the host venue for the Winter Quarterly Meeting in January 2021, the Fall Quarterly Meeting September 2021, and give an update on the Annual Convention in May 2021.  We've missed a lot over the past 5-6 months, so let's get caught up at this meeting.

Commandants, If no one from your Detachment is available to attend, please contact Department Commandant Scott Kirby to be excused.  If you have questions, please contact Commandant Kirby or Adjutant/Paymaster Leib.

We have a schedule of topics for the meeting; it is as follows:

*Detachment PLM audit - Send the original copy to the Dept. Paymaster.
